Oliver Jeffers
I believe my first Oliver Jeffers book was The Day the Crayons Quit (written by Drew Daywalt, illustrated by Oliver Jeffers). I immediately connected with the book's humorous text and illustrations that entertained my kids and me. Next up, was Here We Are - a more serious book but in a good, this-book-is-teaching-something-I-would-struggle-to-explain way. And most recently, There's a Ghost in this House, which is my 3 year olds' new favorite. The design is extremely clever with ghosts appearing in the house as you turn the pages. My girls love finding and counting the ghosts on each page. If children's books are on your Christmas shopping list, I think Oliver Jeffers is a safe place to start!
